Monster Jam in North Charleston Arena

This post in Swedish can be found here.

Our third weekend was packed with the roaring excitement of motorsport at Monster Jam, held at the North Charleston Arena.

We came prepared with ear protection from Sportmans, but despite our readiness, the event started with a bit of a hiccup. We were a few minutes late, and just as we reached our seats, Grave Digger, Wild Side, Ramster, and the other monster trucks made their thunderous entrance. The deafening noise startled the kids, and they immediately asked to go home. It was quick thinking on our part—ear protection on, and we rushed into the arena. Within 10 minutes, Olle and Ralf were completely hooked, and soon we all were. These machines are incredible!

The whole family is convinced that Monster Jam is a must-see.

Neither Jasmine nor I had any prior experience with Monster Jam, so forgive us if our descriptions are a bit off. The event was divided into three segments: First, there was a 1 vs. 1 race, with two laps around the stadium. This was followed by a showcase where each monster truck performed a wheelie for the longest possible time—on the front wheels(!). Finally, the freestyle segment featured tricks, massive jumps, wheelies, and even flips(!!). The pictures speak for themselves.

The monster truck named Wild Side almost flies over the center of the North Charleston Arena.
Huge jumps inside the arena.
The monster truck wheelie was spectacular to see.
Not all of the monster trucks jumps were successful, however.

At halftime, the monster trucks swapped with motocross which put on an impressive show to say the least.

Motocross is definitely not for the fainthearted.

Before heading home, we took one last look at the boys’ new favorite monster trucks in the ”Green Room”.

A taste for more!

In case the monster trucks are back in Charleston next year, Monster Jam will definitely be revisited by the Liedholm family.

See you in the next post!
