Here’s a quick recap of our first week. Gustaf went straight to work on Monday, slightly jet-lagged but excited for his first day. The kids and I continued exploring Daniel Island, spirits high and ready for adventure.
Though the weather is warm, our first dip in the unheated pool at Home2 Suites seems a bit far off. However, dipping our feet in the water was quite refreshing!

The nature and wildlife in tropical South Carolina are vastly different from what we’re used to in Sweden. As mentioned in our previous post about our first weekend here on Daniel Island and our sighting of a cardinal bird, the local fauna is completely different. Creatures that we would only see in zoos back home are part of everyday life here.
One of these many animals is the turtle. While we wished we could capture a close-up photo to show you all potential expats, and friends and family back in Sweden, turtles here are unfortunately quite shy. There’s also a rumor that they carry rabies, so it might be wise to keep a distance, but they are so adorable!

A highlight worth mentioning is the deluxe pancake we shared in Charleston at the Bodega restaurant. Poor Gustaf missed out on this heavenly treat.

The weather here in South Carolina is usually amazing, but even the sun has its off days. On a rainy day this week, we decided to search for family activities and ended up visiting the Charleston Children’s Museum. It was a fantastic experience for the kids, with interactive exhibits and fun activities.

We also made a trip to Tanger Outlet in North Charleston to ensure the boys’ wardrobes are up to date.

That’s a brief summary of our week. Don’t worry back home, we’re enjoying every moment! 🙂
